Bar Manager

The Lucky Onion are now searching for a talented full time, experienced Bar Manager to inspire and coach our friendly team at our locally cherished pub and restaurant; The Chequers in Churchill, near Chipping Norton.

This managerial role requires a thorough understanding of bar management and the ability to motivate and manage a staff team. You will thrive in a busy and dynamic environment, retaining a sense of fun, calm and professionalism in equal measure. Knowledge of bar and cellar systems, a good understanding of wine and cocktails and preferably with a WSET qualification, you will be keen to expand your knowledge, train staff and work alongside the General Manager to grow the business.

With great attention to detail, the ability to multi task and the desire to give above and beyond expectation you will be a confident, self-motivated and approachable ensuring our guests have exceptional service and enjoy happy, memorable moments with us.

Kitchen Porter

The Lucky Onion are looking for a dedicated and reliable full time Kitchen Porter to join our friendly kitchen team at The Chequers in Churchill (near Chipping Norton) our flagship gastro pub in the heart of the Cotswolds.

This is a great role for someone who is seeking to start a career in the kitchen.
As a Kitchen Porter, you will be responsible for maintaining standards of cleanliness and supporting the smooth running of the kitchen. Your main duties will involve:

• collecting and washing pots, pans, plates and cutlery
• getting pots, pans plates and cutlery back into use as quickly as possible
• washing and disinfecting kitchen appliances, work surfaces, floors and walls
• making sure kitchen equipment is properly stored
• removing and recycling waste from the kitchen
• Maintaining a high level of cleanliness
• unloading deliveries of food to the kitchen
• organising the storeroom
• basic food preparation

Restaurant Supervisor

The Lucky Onion are now looking for a talented and knowledgeable Restaurant Supervisor to join our friendly team at The Chequers in Churchill; our flagship gastropub in the heart of the Cotswolds.

A genuine passion for great food and drink and an ability to provide exceptional service and a warm welcome to our guests is a must for these roles. With the ability to multi-task, you will be organised and efficient, with a keen eye for detail and a desire to give above and beyond expectation. Experience of busy and energetic bars or restaurants would be a massive plus, as would a desire to progress your career in the industry.

Our ideal candidates will be self-motivated, personable and approachable with a strong sense of fun and professionalism in equal measure. Previous experience as a supervisor or team leader would be preferred, or someone who has been in the industry who is looking for the next step up.

Ideal candidates will have previous experience working as a Chef De Partie and will have a passion for high quality, seasonal foods and provenance; delivering exceptional, inspired dishes and menu selections. Experience working across all sections in a busy, creative and dynamic kitchen will be a massive plus as would a desire to grow, learn and progress your career within the industry.
This is a great opportunity for an ambitious individual who is looking to develop their supervisory skills, working with a passionate and committed team.
